Vintage 1949 Eggshell Nautilus Homer Laughlin Bowl

Description

This is a vintage 1949 Homer Laughlin Eggshell Nautilus serving bowl in the Ferndale pattern. It is floral in design with pink roses and tiny blue flowers. This line of Laughlin's dinnerware is thinner and stronger than their previous dinnerware. The shapes and lines created were called Eggshell. The first shape produced using the Eggshell process was called Nautilus. The bowl is marked on the base with the date code of G 49 N 5. Which means this bowl was made in July of 1949 at the Newell factory in West Virginia. The bowl measures 8.35 in. across and 3.75 in. across the base.
