    TWO #208 & #496 Japan WW2 Japanese 1942-1945 50 Sen Banknotes Yasukuni Shinto Shrine Golden Kite.
    The "Yasukani" series of banknotes was introduced December 8, 1942, the first anniversary of Pearl Harbor. Japan started to issue small-faced-value paper money due to a metal shortage that supported the war effort.
    Obverse; Kasukani shrine, cherry blossom, red seal and golden kite flying.
    Reverse: Mt. Takachiho-no-mine that is symbolic and sacred. These banknotes came to be known as Series "A". Production was ceased 1945.
