    Description

    This auction is for an original brochure with order form for the Homer Laughlin Epicure pattern..."The versatile new dinnerware designed to bring sprint-time freshness to every meal...". The brochure measures 3-3/8" x 6-3/8" (folded) and 10" x 6-3/8" (unfolded). The brochure lists the four available colors: Dawn Pink, Snow White, Charcoal Gray and Turquoise Blue along with photos of the 19 different pieces that were available from the large plate 10 inch (90 cents), large platter 12 inch (.50), coffee pot (.50), covered dish (.50) to the salt or pepper (75 cents each). A 16 piece set had a special price of .95 and a 45 piece set had a special price of .95. The order form has a column for each color, so a prospective buyer can write down how many of each type of piece they want. The back of the form instructs the buyer to present the form at their favorite store. Checking the internet I found a site which mentions that this brochure was supposed to be out in stores in April of 1955 to coincide with a national advertising campaign for the new pattern. The brochure is in good condition - there is a little wear in the upper left hand corner (of the opened flyer) where a little of the black color is rubbed off - there are a couple other small, light creases.
