. London: Methuen & Co, 1913. 12 1/4" X 10 1/2", pp x + 99 with color frontis with tissue; 27 full page b&w plates; original gilt decorated cloth. Some silverfish grazing to covers, contents fine, pages untrimmed. Near very good overall. Not ex-library. "The most authoritative treatise on the use of glass pastes in imitation - gem jewelry. Ryley's treatment makes no apologies for the obvious falsity of the gems but takes them on their own not inconsiderable merits".
