    Description

    This lovely red transferware platter is a product of the Homer Laughlin China Company, an American pottery company based in Newell, West Virginia.
    It measures approximately 13 ½” x 10 ¾” and stands approximately 1 ¼” in height.
    Set against a bright white background is a finely detailed depiction of the first Thanksgiving while the border around the rim features a pretty red floral pattern.
    This large platter features a scalloped edge and embossed markings.
    The base is marked with a red backstamp with the following wording, “Historical America – The First Thanksgiving 1621 – Homer Laughlin China Co. – Made in U.S.A.”.
    Despite a few manufacturing flaws and a few minor surface scratches this platter is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, crazing or any evidence of damage.
