A custom designed bayonet stand for the distinctive French Chasseport bayonet and it's successor the French 1874 Gras! The
Chasseport
was used between 1866 and 1974
and was the main French Infantry's primary
service weapon. The Gras was standard issue until 1889 but saw action in WWII in some cases.
The better known Chassepot was made famous as the the standard rifle and bayonet issued during the Franco Prussian War of 1870 - 1871 War
in the early 20th century.
Now you can display your 1866 Chassepot Bayonet or 1874 Gras on this new museum quality upright stand for a totally unique display. The stand is made to simulate the
characteristics of the barrel mount, sight and lug of the Modele Chassepot and Model Gras 1874. The bayonet was mounted on the side of the barrel as opposed to the typical
underneath mount for most bayonets. The bayonet w/ Scabbard option uses this detail in the Lug base. If you order the basic stand with barrel on a 5 x 7 plaque/no Scabbard you'll receive a standard lug base as shown in the pics.
You bayonet mounts to the lug and locks in in the same way it would on the original. You have to push the release button to disengage it. It Locks in for safety!

You choose your plaque size: Available in 2 sizes -  5 x 7 x 3/4" (Lug and Barrel) or 9 x 7 x 3/4"(Lug, Barrel and Scabbard Holder.
You choose different display looks: with Barrel support or no Barrel Support
You can also order the Scabbard Holder for the larger 7 x 9 x3/4" Plaque for a unique display of blade and Scabbard

Materials
Every stand is comprised of a custom finished Knotty Pine plaque available in your choice of Black with Wood trim or a Rustic "Old World Classic" finish,
Each plaque is sanded, stained and receives 2 coats of Polyurethane for a fine furniture finish.  And 4 Felt  "Feet" to protect your furniture.
The bayonet base is made of PLA plastic filament that screws down to the plaque and a wooden dowel & barrel (Optional) made of PLA plastic that you
insert into the base.  The barrel support piece is comprised of a wooden dowel and a piece of PVC plastic for added support using the muzzle ring.
The "Lug" or base uses the same locking mechanism as the actual rifle so the bayonet is held securely in place.
Obviously correct safety precautions and handling should be used when handling bayonets.
The Bayonet Lug, optional scabbard holder, & optional barrel pieces are made of PLA plastic filiment.
With the exception of the 2 mounting screws,
THERE ARE NO METAL PARTS IN THIS STAND.
Stands include four (4) felt "feet" to protect furniture. See the pictures for details.
These are handmade and therefore the final product will have variations in color or wood grain pattern which we are not responsible for.
All products are assembled for fit and inspected for best quality appearance before shipping to customer.
They are then dis-assembled for shipping purposes.
Assembly is required.
A Package  with the optional barrel support would contain the following: 1-Plaque, 1 Base, 2 - M2.5 x 10mm Phillips flathead screws, Wooden Dowel and PLA plastic Barrel and base, and barrel cap. Instructions will be included. Takes less than 5 minutes to assemble. Less than 40 seconds your 2nd time!

I make these in small production batches but I have shipped in quantities up to 20 and discount price breaks can be applied at higher quantities!

4) I have added an option to purchase the nameplates pre-engraved you see in the pictures. The pre-engraved nameplates are 3/4" x 2"  and are engraved in gold on a matte black background the 1) name of the bayonet 2) The Firearm it was used on and 3) The name of the country and the conflict it is most known for.  This is a .00 option.

I shouldn't have to warn anyone about the dangers of handling bayonets and displaying bayonets. Please use extreme care and caution when mounting to the stand. Your scabbard should be on the bayonet when mounting. And please keep displays and stands away from the reach of children of any age.
Any helmets, flags,nameplates, scabbards, and/or Bayonets shown in the pictures ARE NOT INCLUDED.
I say this because one customer gave me a negative review and wrote " I opened the box and all I got was a bunch of wood! No bayonet! So.....
THE ONLY THING YOU ARE BUYING IS A DISPLAY STAND! The Bayonets are not included!
