    Description

1959-2020 LINCOLN MEMORIAL CENT COLLECTION + BU WHEAT PENNY & PROOF CENT
Up for your consideration is this complete BU Lincoln memorial cent collection. All business strike issues are present in this set from 1959 to 2020.  The coins in this set are in brilliant uncirculated condition. This collection contains all 8 of the commemorative Lincoln cents issued in 2009 plus the brand new 2010-P,D through 2020-P,D Union Shield Lincolns. The 2010 through 2020 cents depict the Union shield on the reverse which is fitting since president Lincoln preserved the union during the Civil War. I am including some very nice extras with this collection - A 1960-D Small Date, 1962 Gem Proof  + A BU Wheat penny taken out of an original BU roll.
    The following coins are included: 1959-PD, 1960-P LARGE DATE, 1960-D LARGE DATE, 1961-PD, 1962-PD, 1963-PD, 1964-PD, 1965-P, 1966-P, 1967-P, 1968-PDS, 1969-PDS, 1970-PDS, 1971-PDS, 1972-PDS, 1973-PDS, 1974-PDS, 1975-PD, 1976-PD, 1977-PD, 1978-PD, 1979-PD, 1980-PD, 1981-PD, (ALL 7 DIFFERENT 1982 VARIETIES) 1982-P ZINC SMALL DATE, 1982-P ZINC LARGE DATE, 1982-P COPPER SMALL DATE, 1982-P COPPER LARGE DATE, 1982-D COPPER LARGE DATE, 1982-D ZINC SMALL DATE, 1982-D ZINC LARGE DATE, 1983-PD, 1984-PD, 1985-PD, 1986-PD, 1987-PD, 1988-PD, 1989-PD, 1990-PD, 1991-PD, 1992-PD, 1993-PD, 1994-PD, 1995-PD, 1996-PD, 1997-PD, 1998-PD, 1999-PD, 2000-PD, 2001-PD, 2002-PD, 2003-PD, 2004-PD, 2005-PD, 2006-PD, 2007-PD, 2008-D, 2009-P & D Log cabin, Formative years, Professional life, & Presidential year cents plus the brand new 2010-P,D + 2011-P,D + 2012-P,D + 2013-P,D + 2014-P,D + 2015-P,D + 2016-P,D, 2017-P,D, 2018-P,D, 2019-P,D, & 2020-P,D Union shield reverse cents. This set is housed in 2 brand new Harris folders that protect and display the coins very nicely. These folders will allow you to view the entire collection at one time and they fold up for convenient safe storage. There were extra openings in folder #2 for coins that date 2021 and into the future. I have filled those openings with some nice brilliant uncirculated extras - 10 coins each 2017-D - 2018-D - 2019-D & 2020-D bringing the total number of coins to 183
If you have been watching the prices of Lincoln cents lately you know that their values have been skyrocketing in the last few years and are getting much tougher to find. The next few years should be very exciting for Lincoln cent collectors. This year the Lincoln cent series going all the way back to the wheat cent will be 111 years old and be the longest running coin series in U.S. history. Congress passed a bill that made changes to the Lincoln cent in 2009 celebrating the bicentennial anniversary of the birth of Abraham Lincoln. The Mint produced 4 circulating commemorative cents during 2009 that represent different aspects of Lincoln's life: A) His birth and early childhood in Kentucky - Log Cabin - ; B) His formative years in Indiana; C) His professional life in Illinois; & D) His Presidency in Washington D.C. The U.S. Mint also produced a “Copper” 2009 cent just for collectors that is only available in Mint and Proof sets. It contains the same composition as the early wheat cents, not the copper coated zinc that today's cents are made of. In 1982 the Mint switched from copper cents to copper coated zinc because it was costing more than one cent to make a copper cent. In the last few years zinc prices have went up so much that it is once again costing the Mint more than face value to produce them so you can bet they probably won't make them much longer. The Canadian Mint has already discontinued production of their one cent coin. All of these changes in design combined with the fact that the Mint will probably eliminate cent production soon will push prices of Lincolns ever higher as more and more collectors compete for the remaining specimens. Would make an excellent gift for that special collector in your life or just to put away for the future.
