TWO #1435 & #1496 1938 Japanese WW II Era 50 Sen Mount Fuji Volcano, Sakura(Cherry Blossoms), Bright Sun with rays.This currency is from the Showa Era 1926-1989, which corresponds to the reign of Emperor Showa(Hirohito).
These were produced when the 50 Sen coin was not produced as Japan required the metal for other purposes.
They are recognized as "Fuji Sakura 50 Sen". These were abolished as legal tender August 31, 1948.
The obverse side: Mt. Fuji, Sakura(Cherry Blossom, National flower of Japan) and Bright Sun with rays.
The reverse: No particular feature, just the value in Latin and Kanji script.
